I moved to Kentucky, from Massachusetts in 2003 for the start of college and for the opportunity to be a working student/groom
for Cathy Wieschhoff. Cathy set me up to work with Olympians Karen and David O'Connor, individual gold medalists. In 2005
I achieved my A rating, for the United States Pony Club, the highest level that can be achieved. In 2005, I also took Musntuchit,
to the North American Young Riders Championships. There we received the individual bronze medal. In 2006 we again went to
NAYRC at the two star level and finished well.
In 2007 I graduated from Midway College with a BA in equine instruction and training and a minor in business. I
am now riding under the instruction of Susan Posner, dressage, and Jonathon Holling, eventing and am ready to devote full
time to teaching, training and competeing. After seperate injuries to Musntuchit and to me the 2007/2008 season was a challenge
as was 2008/2009 with another knee surgery. My third knee surgery in three years shouldn't set me back this year and I am
hoping for a very exciting year with my new horse Foxy and my young horses.
In 2009 injuries stuck again, as I had to have both shoulder and stomach surgery. However, 2009 was overall a good
year, as Jesse Kleintop and I got married. Throughout 2009, I made the decision to retire Walter from upper level eventing.
Foxy and I weren't seeing eye to eye on things and I decided it would be best for her to find a new home. I have upcoming
young horses that are very promissing. These young horses all showed well in the fall, some finding new homes, and some staying
on with me. Elwood, a new partner of mine is doing very well at training level, and may be moving up to preliminary soon.
2010 unfortunately included another shoulder surgery... when will I be healthy enough to compete for a whole season?
Healthy in the summer means that 2010 is all about the World Equestrian games! Shadey Hill's Oscea, a 3 year old homebred
connemara, and I will be doing demos on how to work with a yong horses. Oscea and I both had a blast doing the WEG demos.
She is an extremely willing pony and I look forward to a good future with her.
2011 promises good things. February and March landed me in Florida with a really nice tb off the track that I restarted
in the summer of 2010. Rotterdam is an unbelievalbe mover and jumper. Unfortunately for me he is more suited to the hunter
ring and will be sold as such. I have an extremely promissing 3 year old homebred, Bold Testamony, "Chief". Cheif came with
me to Florida to be started and is coming along quite well! In his three year old year, he has already been high point at
two shows including a future event horse show, and the walk trot division at a recognized dressage show. The future is very
promissing for this young horse! Oscea has begun competing at beginner novice and shows a lot of potential for her small size.
High Limit has again come to the farm and was third at his second novice! I also have several nice young horses off the track
that will be restarted in the fall.
My students are making great progress with their horses and are having wonderful successes showing.
